Stewed Apples
SERVES: 1
Ingredients:
1 medium organic apple (use 2 if small)
2 whole cloves
about 1⁄2 cup water
1 tbsp raisins (or 1 chopped date)
⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
How to Make Stewed Apples:
Wash, peel and chop the apple. If you don’t have time to peel, you can leave the skin on. The skin contains additional nutrients but is harder to digest.
Add the fruit, cloves and water into a small saucepan. Bring to a low boil.
Add raisins and cinnamon.
Cover the pot and simmer until the apple is soft (around 5 minutes). Stir occasionally. Different apples take different cook times so check periodically and leave for longer if needed.
Cool and enjoy.
TIPS:
If you get tired of the apples, try the same recipe with a pear, mango, peach, etc.
